A Fancy Sync Box sits between your HDMI device and your TV. It reads the colors straight from the HDMI signal and drives an LED strip behind your TV, so the light around your screen changes with the picture in real time. Every Sync Box ships as a complete TV backlight kit, strip included.
For gaming on a PS5 or Xbox Series X, choose an HDMI 2.1 model with 4K 144Hz support, such as the 2.1 Fancy Sync Box. To sync up to three HDMI devices, choose the 3 Port 2.1 Fancy Sync Box. For casual gaming and movie nights on one device, the best value is the 2.0 Fancy Sync Box. Full specs are in the Comparison Table.
To extend the sync to the rest of the room, add Synced Fancyleds. They're 96 RGBW LEDs/m strips in 2.5 m / 8.2 ft or 5 m / 16.4 ft, each with its own power adaptor, and they sync with your Sync Box wirelessly, so no cable runs between them. For the best diffusion, place them behind furniture like a couch or shelf. You can also get them with a Sync Box in a Bundle. The Pro Bundle includes the 2.1 Fancy Sync Box and the Ultimate Bundle includes the 3 Port 2.1 Fancy Sync Box.
Plug your HDMI device, such as a game console or streaming stick, into a Fancy Sync Box, connect the Sync Box to your TV and mount the included LED strip. Then finish setup in the free Fancyleds app. The Sync Box needs Wi-Fi on the 2.4 GHz band, which most routers broadcast.
Yes, as long as what you watch comes from an HDMI device. Apps built into the TV won't sync because their video never passes through the Sync Box, so play Netflix, Disney+ and other apps on a Fire Stick, Apple TV or Xbox instead. With nothing plugged in, Scene Mode in the Fancyleds app still runs preset static and dynamic lighting effects.
Kits come in three sizes: 24" to 55", 56" to 65" and 70" to 95". Pick the size that matches or exceeds your TV, so a 75" or 85" TV takes the largest kit. Above 95", the strip won't reach all the way around and the gap grows with screen size, so we don't recommend it. Projectors aren't supported.
